Bacterial Hotspots at Home

Today my five-year-old asked me “mommy why do I have to keep washing my hands? They’re not dirty...” We’ve got her into the habit of washing her hands after she’s done playing outside and before she eats which is a pretty common request parents ask and are usually reminding their kids.  I explained to her even though the hands look clean, germs and bacteria are always present and washing is a good way at keeping healthy.

I suddenly realized it had been over a week since I last cleaned what I refer to as the germfest “hotspots” inside the house where germs and bacteria can spread. These are generally the hard surface areas in the house.

So grab your disinfectant wipes and hit these spots regularly:

Doorknobs
TV remote control
Faucets
Light switch and plates
Phones
Anything with a handle - Fridge/Freezer, microwave, utensil drawer, toilet handle, etc...

The kitchen is especially a high traffic area in my house. Lots and lots to disinfecting there.

Share what are your household disinfecting “hotspots”?
