3 Benefits of Marjoram Essential Oil

MARJORAM - like so many essential oils, has an ancient history.  It can be traced back to old Egyptian times when it was used for healing, disinfectant and as a preserver.  In my practice, it's applied when a client has a muscle spasm, cramping, or suffers from a bit of anxiety.
Because of its warming affect on the body and mind, this essential oil comes handy to help ease muscle tension and benefits the nervous system.  It is also a powerful anti-bacterial, anti-infectious and it also has anti-septic properties.

There are so many marvelous things about Marjoram essential oils. Below, I list my top three uses and their benefits:

1.  Relieves Muscle Pain and Spasms
It happens to all of us, aches, muscle cramping and tension all due to overexertion.  Marjoram oil can help reduce and alleviate these issues. Dilute 3 to 6 drops and apply it topically to area of concern twice daily.

2.  Aids in Stress and Anxiety Relief
Marjoram oil has a sedative properties and can bring calming and peaceful feelings.
Diffuse or inhale. Another option dilute and dab to back of neck and wrists.

3.  Helps Prevent Infections

Its Anti-bacterial, anti-septic and anti-viral properties, marjoram oil may help prevent infections and in some cases ailments such as common cold, flu and cold sores.
Dilute 2 to 5 drops and apply topically twice daily.

I'll sometimes use a combination of other essential oils along with Marjoram to achieve a deeper relief.

As a tea, Marjoram can help regulate blood pressure, reduce stomach cramping and flatulence.

Lastly, for meditation or to unwind the mind from a long day, diffuse Marjoram, Lavender and Peppermint essential oils together.  Then close your eyes and meditate for a few minutes. Try this!
